It seems to be the most stressful times are the times which drive us to make greater movements in our lives.
Day 15: Efficiency
I’m starting to get into a good routine of doing Swagbucks efficiently. I can now often guess what most questions are asking on the surveys by simply looking at the answers available. I notice i’m getting through the surveys much quicker now and with music in the background, this time seems to go relatively quickly.
Today I logged on, completed 3 surveys and within an hour, I earned 144 SB’s (£1.12).
Day 15 of the £1 a day challenge complete!!
Day 16: The Opposite
Some days, Swagbucks seems OK, then other days I get completely fed up with it. Today I’ve wasted around half an hours worth of time accepting, starting to complete and getting declined on surveys. One survey I did complete (lasting 20 minutes) for the points to only fail to record on my account.
It’s days like these where this challenge truly sucks. Although maybe that is a good thing as it drives me to look for new and better opportunities. Today is the day I created a logo and made my Youtube account.
IT SEEMS TO BE THE MOST STRESSFUL TIMES ARE THE TIMES WHICH DRIVE US TO MAKE GREATER MOVEMENTS IN OUR LIVES.
I eventually managed to load up a survey and get accepted (the points recorded this time). I then worked on receiving a Swagbucks search reward all while playing Swagbucks videos in the background.
Today, I also decided to redeem some of my Swagbucks to test the withdrawal process. I’ll let you know how this works out soon. Along with this, I also received a 100 SB rebate due to a previous reward I was saving for a slow day like this.
This brought me over the mark, earning 137 SB’s (£1.08). But unfortunately it cost me 2 hours of my time. However, times like these seem to be really driving me to get this website started so I can truly begin my journey to escaping the rat race faster.
Day 17: “Pretty Smoothly”
Today’s activity on Swag bucks went pretty smoothly. Straight after work, I logged onto Swagbucks to get the challenge done. I started off doing some random searches, checking my stock watch list. After around 10 searches, I received a 9 SB reward. I was then declined 3 surveys in a row before eventually reaching my £1 target.
Today took around 45 minutes of activity on Swagbucks, earning 131 SB’s (£1.02). Day 17 complete!!
Day 18: Getting The Website Started
Another day for blasting through the surveys on Swagbucks. In total I attempted 5 surveys of which 2 were declined and I failed to be awarded for one completion. This is super frustrating but I’m starting to get used to this as a frequent occurrence. Once I got myself into this mindset, I didn’t mind too much. As mentioned before i’m getting into a good routine of putting music on and putting my head down as I fairly efficiently get through each survey.
In a strange way, I kind of enjoy the grind of getting through the surveys. It feels like I am working hard towards something positive. And eventually something bigger and much more financially significant.
Once these surveys were complete, I earned my Swagbucks search reward and decided to call it a day. Today’s earnings are 138 SB’s (£1.08) for around 50 minutes of work.
Today I made great progress in the process of creating this website. I have now mapped out how I want the website to look, who I want to help and how I plan to do this. As I write this, I have a video playing in the background about website creation and purchasing a domain name and web hosting. But as you are reading this now said website, obviously I have figured this all out now. The daily challenge will catch up with real time on week 4.
Day 19: Lack Of Surveys On Weekends
With the COVID-19 lock down going on, there’s not much getting in my way for me to complete the challenge today. That being said, it was nice to get the work out the way early.
So today I got up early and logged onto the Swagbucks account. First thing was to achieve the Swagbucks search reward; after 5 or 6 random searches, i eventually received a 5 SB reward. Now to finish it off with the surveys. One thing I have noticed is the relative lack of surveys on weekends. This left me with one fair value survey (offering 41 SB’s for 15 minutes work) which I completed. The rest of the offers seemed like a complete waste of time. So I searched around for alternatives.
By great chance, I found there’s an alternative survey website (Peanut surveys) which is linked to the Swagbucks account. This site had a good range of surveys offering a decent reward. This is definitely an option to remember for other difficult days.
After being declined by a couple, I completed a peanut survey. I then redeemed £25 worth of swagbucks earning a 75 SB rebate due to a previous levelling up reward. The £10 reward exchanged perfectly into my Paypal account within 2 days giving me the confidence to make further withdrawals.
Today’s online earnings on Swagbucks is 164 SB’s (£1.28) for around 55 minutes of work. Now to enjoy the rest of the day!!
Day 20: OK So I Was Wrong
OK so I was wrong about Peanut surveys being the answer to the survey lacking problems.
Today I had the usual problem of entering into a bunch of surveys, only to be rejected 5 minutes later. After a few rejections, again there were no reasonably priced surveys left. So in a spark of hope, I rushed over to the Peanut surveys page on Swagbucks to see what they had to offer. To my demise, nothing other than a few surveys offering 10-20 SB’s for 20+ minutes of work. No thanks!!
So I decided to wait until later in the day to see if other offers will arrive…
I logged on again a few hours later for there to be a couple of new offers. Perhaps this could be another option to remember when lacking opportunities. I luckily got accepted for 2 surveys in a row; Each taking me around 20 minutes to complete.
After those surveys and a Swagbucks search reward, I reached my daily £1 target. Today’s Swagbucks earnings are 131 SB’s (£1.02) for around 90 minutes of work.
Day 21: Brand Name Struggles
Swagbucks was being a pain in the *** today. Specifically on a day where I really wanted to finally get this website on the road. The past couple of days I’ve been going over a speed bump. I think I needed to change my brand name. When you read this the website will obviously have the real name but believe it or not, I originally was going to call this site Rat Race Revelations. I even had a logo and all, look!!
Pretty cool huh?!
If you were interested, my logos are made with tailorbrands.com. It was super easy to use and in my opinion, the choice and customisations of your logos looked great!!
Anyway, at the time of writing i’m still not sure what to go for. Just before I bought the ratracerevelations.com domain name, I thought I’d do one last search. Unfortunately, I saw another site called Rat Race Rebellion. It seems like a pretty well established website and was worried if this may cause future issues having a similar name. So I decided to play it safe and go back to the drawing board.
Searching for a new name has been hell. It’s hard to think of something memorable and catchy that hasn’t already been taken in the competitive online financial space. However, I have a few ideas now and am testing logos out on Tailor Brands. I hope the future me makes some good decisions and the logo looks as bad *** as the last one. I also hope you like it?
So you now see my urgency to get today’s £1 challenge done!!
It started off well, with me racking up 2 swagbucks search rewards during this morning’s investment research. Later that evening I decided to get the surveys done to reach the daily target. Apparently swagbucks disagreed!!
Would you believe, I attempted 10 surveys in a row and got rejected. This left very low paying surveys which I’d only spend time doing as an absolute last resort. So I browsed the discover page to see if there were any cheap offers available…
Luckily, I found a 150 SB offer to sign up for a 3 month free trial for a discount card service. The Swagbucks will appear as pending for 32 days but after that the plan is to make sure I cancel before I get charged. Shhhh!!
So after a dismal effort with the surveys, fortunately I found a way to reach my goal in the end. Today’s earnings are 167SB’s (£1.30) for around 90 minutes of work.
This now marks 3 weeks since I decided to start this challenge. Despite some difficult days, I’m proud of myself for keeping it going!!
Now the next steps are to finally decide on a website name and logo and get the website started. Then I can finally put my message out to the world and hopefully inspire others like me to take action in adding some financial freedom into their lives. Be it just a few extra pounds a week to help pay the bills, or (if you’re like me) to hopefully build something online which can take over your current job and give you work which you can do remotely and any time you like.
