Week 20: we can’t change the past, so the best thing I can do now is to keep pushing on hard, regardless of the past.
Day 134: I need to get traffic
I got up early this morning to record the audio for the next couple of YouTube videos. I’m also lucky enough to live near a beach so I took a walk afterwards to reflect on my progress so far.
At the moment, I’m really happy with the way my content on YouTube is improving, however I’m still yet to get much traction. So on this walk, I decided I should set some of my attention onto learning how to get that initial interest for each video. This includes working on my titles and thumbnails, to get that initial click.
Once people begin to find the content I put out and actually click on it, I know they will find it of value. Then the channel will begin to grow. So stay tuned with this post to see what I learn about getting traffic to YouTube this week.
Then I had a long, boring day of work…
Afterwards, I opened up Swagbucks to complete my goal for the £1 a day challenge. I did the minimal amount of work, completing the best surveys I saw to earn 128 SB’s (£1.00) for around 50 minutes of effort.
Day 135: YouTube video update
As today is Thursday, I needed to upload the video update of week 19 of the £1 a day challenge. Each video at the moment seems to take around 4-6 hours to make, so I got up at 5 am to make sure I got it done today.
With work in the way, in the middle, I finally managed to get this posted onto YouTube by around 11 pm. I’m really pleased with the end result and I think it’s my best video yet. You can check out ‘How to Make Money Online With YouTube: Week 19’ here.
In between editing today, I went in between Swagbucks to check up on the best surveys that pop up. I got declined by many but in the end I made 133 SB’s (£1.04) to pass the daily goal.
Day 136: A Busy Weekend Ahead
After work today, I worked on surveys to complete the goal. After about an hour I completed 4 surveys to make 132 SB’s (£1.03).
I have a super busy weekend ahead with catching up with friends. So I need to make sure I get up early to complete the challenge tomorrow…
Day 137: I Failed…
So I got up early today but things got ahead of me. It took me a while to plan and sort getting ready for the weekend. Once done, this left me with 45 minutes before I left.
I thought there’s still time. I’ve worked so hard to keep up this challenge and I don’t intend to break the chain now!!
So I loaded up Swagbucks looking for the best paying surveys. I initially earned 50 SB’s on a 10 minute survey, perfect. I then earned 35 SB’s on another one. But then there was barely anything left. I frantically searched the discovery section to no avail.
So I refreshed my gold survey section and to my delight, there was one well paying survey on there. It offered 150 SB’s for a 15 minute survey. This was my chance. So I filled in the first action to see if I’m a match to the survey, pressed enter, and waited as the screen loaded.
It put me back onto the Swagbucks site. I had been declined.
And my heart sank….
I’ve spent months pushing through difficult situations to make sure I get this challenge completed every day. I gave myself no excuses and wanted to keep up the momentum of making money online.
I was hoping I’d get a chance to catch up later on on the day, but it turns out I found no chance at all. So today is the day I did not make my £1 goal online.
However, although this is annoying, Failures are important in everything, as well as business. Failures are where we learn to improve and find the motivation to switch our focus back on again.
So I’m determined for this to not get the best of me. And make sure I keep up the momentum to keep going.
Day 138: Long Weekend
I had a great weekend catching up with friends. I came back fairly late today and I was pretty tired and didn’t feel like completing today’s challenge. However, I loaded up Swagbucks and stuck at it.
In the end I completed enough surveys to earn 128 SB’s (£1.00) in around 50 minutes.
Day 139: Slower than usual…
After work today, I loaded up Swagbucks and worked on completing surveys to earn 132 SB’s (£1.03). The rest of the day I felt tired and ended up procrastinating.
I have a few videos I’ve half created and just need to finish to post them on YouTube. It seems this week is going a little slower than usual.
Day 140: Procrastination
A lot of procrastination again after work. It was another long, hot day in the sun and as much as I really wanted to work on progressing this challenge, my mind was not letting me. I spent a fair bit, procrastinating this evening.
However, I didn’t want to let myself off the hook with the simple goal of making £1 a day online. So I made sure I completed the surveys on Swagbucks to make 147 SB’s (£1.15) to pass today’s goal.
So that’s week 20…
Sorry, this week must’ve been quite boring to follow. I’m trying to keep up this challenge the best I can but my opportunities feel limited with this COVID-19 situation still adding restrictions in many areas.
I was busy at work and on the weekends this week. It meant I couldn’t get done what I needed, to improve the YouTube channel. It also meant I finally failed to complete one day of making £1 online. This is disappointing as I’m trying to set an example for this challenge. However, we can’t change the past, so the best thing I can do now is to keep pushing on hard, regardless of the past.
I need to make sure I really push on in week 21!!
So thank you for following another week of the challenge. I appreciate the support and I really hope sharing my journey can help to inspire you to take part in this challenge yourself.
