Week 26: Income growth will come, but just taking on this challenge itself has improved my life significantly.
Day 176: Almost Six Months In
So at the end of week 26, this will mark half a year since I began the £1 a day challenge. Lets see what I can achieve this week…
At the start of this challenge, I really wanted to begin sharing my journey for two reasons.
- To get myself out of my situation. To strive to escape my boring job and to begin building an online business that I can build from when and where I want. So I can have more freedom with my life.
- To share everything I learn so I can help others to achieve these goals too. To help you get out of your financial problems, holding you back in your life.
So far…
I’ve been really focusing on building platforms to grow interest for the Money Your Concern brand. I’ve put out a lot of content I think can help people. And in the meantime, I’ve mainly been using Swagbucks to keep up this challenge of making £1 each day.
So I’m not necessarily where I want to be in terms of growing my income online but what I do have is platforms that I am proud of. Here I barely have a following but I know this will grow and will eventually help a lot of people. Which means a lot to me.
Along with this, putting myself out there has really improved my personal confidence. This is one of the greatest benefits of all as I believe my self confidence was the main thing holding me back from pushing myself in online business.
I feel more primed than ever to build an online business.
However, on a slightly lower note, I did use Swagbucks again to earn today’s £1 a day challenge. I completed 4 surveys, taking about 70 minutes to make 132 SB’s (£1.03).
Day 177: Money Your Concern Facebook Page
So if you followed my progress from last week you would have seen that I finally got round to opening up a Facebook account. As I am afraid to share it with my friends, it is yet to have any followers. As there are no followers, I have no reason yet to post on there.
However, this page will eventually be the home place where you can find out everything that is going on in the world of Money Your Concern. I intend to post super frequently on there to update you on anything I think will be useful in your journey to financial freedom.
I was planning around this today and decided one thing…
Once I receive one follower to this page, I promise you I will start posting every day on the Facebook page. This will be all because of you!!
Will you be that person to make the first like?
Here’s the link to my Facebook page.
Day 178: Busy Editing
I spent a lot of time editing today for the value investing quiz. Along with working my 9-5 job, this left not much time for anything else today.
However, as always, I did force myself to complete today’s £1 a day challenge goal.
Straight after work, I loaded up Swagbucks and worked on the Survey section for about an hour. This earned me 140 SB’s (£1.09).
Day 179: Value Investing Quiz
It’s finally the weekend again. I can now get on and spend some time to get a lot of work done for Money Your Concern.
And that I did.
This evening I posted out the Value Investing Quiz. This is to top off the Value Investing Basics playlist recently put out on the YouTube channel.
I’m hugely proud of this as I believe it really gives you a good feel as to if you have a good stock market strategy in mind. It completes the series and reiterates all the key points given.
I put a lot of work into these two videos So it would be awesome if you could check them out. Let me know what you think? I hope it helps you with your investing skills.
Then, once again, Swagbucks got me over the mark to make that £1 online again. I won’t bore you with the details on that this time…
Day 180: “Now I said it, I have to commit”
So to get the challenge out of the way quickly today, I loaded up Swagbucks first thing to make today’s money online. This took about 1 hr of surveys to make 129 SB’s (£1.01).
Other than that, I began to edit a new video for the YouTube channel. I’m going to push myself here by telling you this will be posted by tomorrow.
Now I said it, I have to commit!!
Day 181: All The Ways You Can Make Money With Swagbucks
So I didn’t get much editing done yesterday. This left us with a lot of work to do today, in order to keep my promise of posting out this new video.
Anyways, after 5 hours of editing today, the video is live. The video is titled ‘All The Ways You Can Make Money With Swagbucks’. I made it to give you a good idea of all the possible income opportunities you could have, should you choose to open up a Swagbucks account.
You can check out the video below if you like. Let me know what you think…
And on that note, I also used Swagbucks today to pass the £1 goal. Once again I completed surveys in the answer section. Thankfully, this went really smoothly. Within 30 minutes, I had completed 2 surveys to earn 131 SB’s (£1.02).
Day 182: Reflection
So all I had left to do today was Swagbucks. So once again, I loaded my account early in the morning and worked on completing surveys. This took me about 50 minutes to complete 3 surveys to earn 140 SB’s (£1.09).
So now that this is the end of week 26. Half of 52 weeks (one whole year), I spent a lot of time thinking today. I wanted to look back and reassess how i’m doing and if i’m doing the right things to progress.
So over the past 26 weeks, I haven’t achieved what I thought I would have. I would have expected a much larger following and hopefully to have increased this £1 goal by now using affiliate and referral links.
I focused strongly on creating a following as I want to get people behind this challenge. To help as many people as possible with their own financial situation. However, although my content is improving, clearly it is nowhere near good enough to build a decent interest yet, so i’ll stay humble and keep working on this.
One really positive thing…
out of creating all this content and putting myself out there is my confidence. I’ve always been an introvert and I had confidence issues in many social situations.
Particularly since I started the YouTube channel, my confidence has grown massively. I rarely get nervous now when talking to others/ new people/ groups. And this is huge for me. If helping just a few subscribers and becoming more socially confident were on the cards for this 6 months of serious effort, I think I would have taken it in a heartbeat.
Income growth will come, but just taking on this challenge itself has improved my life significantly.
However, I need to grow this challenge somehow…
And building a YouTube channel will have way too slow progress. So in terms of progression I think I need to switch my priorities now. The foundation for YouTube and the website have been built, so I can now focus on growing this £1 goal.
So for now, YouTube will be put on the back burner a little and I will look to find and share with you more ways to grow an income online. These updates will be the same as usual (Blog on Wednesday and Video on Thursday) but you will find more ideas being tested out over the coming months.
So stay tuned.
Thanks for checking out week 26…
So we are now nearly at half a year since I decided to begin the £1 a day challenge and share everything with you. Although the goal hasn’t progressed much, the foundations are being built and I have become more confident as a person through the process.
After week 26, the next steps for me is to branch out and seek more direct ways of growing an income online, faster. So stay tuned to see how I do this.
You can keep up to date with the challenge via the Blog section on this website. Or catch a video update going into detail on the important lessons learned, every Thursday via the YouTube channel.
