Brand Name Struggles: Day 21

Brand Name Struggles: Day 21

Swagbucks was being a pain in the *** today. Specifically on a day where I really wanted to finally get this website on the road. The past couple of days I’ve been through some brand name struggles. I think I needed to change my brand name. When you read this, the website will obviously have the real name but believe it or not, I originally was going to call this site Rat Race Revelations. I even had a logo and all, look!!

Pretty cool huh?!

If you were interested, my logos are made with tailorbrands.com. It was super easy to use and in my opinion, the choice and customisation of your logos looked great!!

Anyway, at the time of writing i’m still not sure what to go for. Just before I bought the ratracerevelations.com domain name, I thought I’d do one last search. Unfortunately, I saw another site called Rat Race Rebellion. It seems like a pretty well established website and was worried if this may cause future issues having a similar name. So I decided to play it safe and go back to the drawing board.

So there’s a lesson to be learned here…

Make sure you do your due dilligence before commiting to any major steps in your business career. By this I mean doing your research on yohe planned activity: how feasable it is, the potential risks involved and what you need to do to make something run smoothly.

Luckily I recognised the potential of having too close a brand name to anthers. Now I just have to look for a new company name which represents what I want to achieve, without infringing on other peoples work.

*UPDATE*

Searching for a new name has been hell. It’s hard to think of something memorable and catchy that hasn’t already been taken in the competitive online financial space. However, I have a few ideas now and am testing logos out on Tailor Brands. I hope the future me makes some good decisions and the logo looks as bad *** as the last one. I also hope you like it?

So you now see my urgency to get today’s £1 challenge done!!

Brand name struggles to £1 a day struggles…

It started off well, with me racking up 2 Swagbucks search rewards during this morning’s investment research. Later that evening I decided to get the surveys done to reach the daily target. Apparently Swagbucks disagreed!!

Would you believe, I attempted 10 surveys in a row and got rejected. This left very low paying surveys which I’d only spend time doing as an absolute last resort. So I browsed the discover page to see if there were any cheap offers available…

Luckily, I found a 150 SB offer to sign up for a 3 month free trial for a discount card service. The Swagbucks will appear as pending for 32 days but after that the plan is to make sure I cancel before I get charged. Shhhh!!

So after a dismal effort with the surveys, fortunately I found a way to reach my goal in the end. Today’s earnings are 167SB’s (£1.30) for around 90 minutes of work.

This now marks 3 weeks since I decided to start this challenge. Despite some difficult days, I’m proud of myself for keeping it going!!

Now the next steps for me are to finally decide on a website name and logo and get the website started. Then I can finally put my message out to the world and hopefully inspire others like me to take action in adding some financial freedom into their lives. Be it just a few extra pounds a week to help pay the bills, or (if you’re like me) to hopefully build something online which can take over your current job and give you work which you can do remotely and any time you like.
