Sometimes business isn’t exciting. I pledged to write up my progress each day so I guess there will be some repetitive days in business.
Day 36: Being Patient with Swagbucks:
Today was another day using Swagbucks to complete the £1 a day challenge. I loaded my account up early in the morning to get the challenge done. Again, there were only a few surveys on offer. I took what I could, answering 2 surveys, almost reaching my target. Afterwards, all that was left were surveys paying small rewards for 20 minutes+ of time, so I decided to try again later.
After a few hours, I logged on again to find one well paid survey. Luckily I got onto this and after 15 minutes, I reached the daily £1 mark. Today’s pay online is 128 SB’s (£1.00) for around 75 minutes of work. That sounds terrible I know. I can’t wait to start building my presence online and start monetising. That way I wouldn’t need to rely on Swagbucks anymore to reach my daily £1 online target.
The rest of today was spent researching potential stock market investments. I also edited and published week 5 of the £1 a day challenge. I hope you like it. I’m trying my best to improve my writing and make the content much more readable. However, like most things, I suppose it just takes practice.
Day 37: Content Creation Progress:
Today I got a lot of work done in terms of creating content for the website. I completed the 3 part value investing basics series which you should have been able to see this week. I finished and completed another book review and have been working on a few other exciting posts which will be available on the website shortly.
This left little time today to get the £1 a day challenge complete. However, I managed to find some spare time every now and then to check up on Swagbucks to see if there are any well paid surveys. Although sometimes there aren’t many to choose from, there are new ones being posted frequently, so this seems like the best strategy.
With this strategy, I completed one survey in the morning, one at lunch and one in the evening. This was sufficient to pass my £1 goal. Along with a few search rewards, today’s earnings were 142 SB’s (£1.10) for around one hours worth of work.
Day 38: Nothing Special Today:
Unfortunately there’s nothing exciting to report today. I logged onto Swagbucks early morning to find a few well paying surveys. Two surveys and 45 minutes later and I had passed today’s £1 a day goal. Earning 129 SB’s (£1.01).
With the rest of today I endeavour to finish another post I’ve been working on. Also to write up another book review of a recent read I’ve finished. When I can get an affiliate account with amazon, gaining commissions off of book recommendations will be my first strategy of testing the waters for making passive income online.
Day 39: Sometimes You Need To Be Repetitive…
I know this week’s progress is probably a bit repetitive and boring to read. However, I suppose as I’m showing every day, some periods will be boring to read. At the moment I’m spending lots of time trying to get my Website name out there by producing good content. This currently involves hours of writing blog posts each day. I hope to post 1 a day for at least the next year.
So alongside writing posts, I frequently checked back onto Swagbucks to select the most profitable surveys as they pop up. In the morning, I got declined for a few but later on I managed to find 3 surveys in order to get past the £1 mark.
Today’s total earnings were 132 SB’s (£1.03) for around 50 minutes of completing surveys.
Day 40: Procrastination
So today was a bit of a lazy day. Well I tried to do work but with the lock down and having no release from going outside, it’s starting to get hard to concentrate. I started off the morning staring at a blinking cursor on a blank document. I knew what post to write but kept on getting distracted. The rest of the morning I spend scrolling through Youtube watching music videos.I couldn’t conjure up the motivation to get started. I suppose this happens to everyone.
From experience, when going through a day like this, it’s often worth taking a breather. Pushing yourself excessively and unnecessarily often leads to burn out!! All I’ve been thinking about over the past month is the stock market and building this website. I usually have the surf to take my mind off things but at the moment that isn’t allowed. So I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on myself.
Sometimes you just need to listen to your body. So I dropped all today’s tasks apart from publishing a previously written post and completing the £1 a day challenge.
Luckily I’d been saving an easy task on Swagbucks. All I had to do was sign up to an online course site paying 200 SB’s to do so. Sorted, now I just need to remember to cancel the membership before the 4 weeks is up!!
I’ll take a break for the rest of the day now. I’ll be back at it again tomorrow with a fresher mind.
Day 41: A Fresher Mind
I started off today with a fresher mind. Although there’s not too much difference to talk about today. But I suppose that’s the reality of business sometimes.
I woke up early to complete a few surveys and within an hour, I had passed my £1 a day total. Today I earned 137 SB’s (£1.07) from the surveys and the search rewards I earned throughout the day.
Day 42: Dream 100
Swagbucks was simple enough today. I couldn’t see any worthwhile surveys in the morning so I decided to check out the discovery section. Luckily, I found an offer paying 240 SB’s for me to sign up for another survey site. I think actually using this site would make things confusing but all I had to do was fill out my email and personal details. So I guess I can just unsubscribe to the emails and claim the free Swagbucks. Sshh!!
So along with the search rewards from today I’ve made 256 SB’s (or £2.00) for probably 30 minutes of work.
For the rest of the day I intended to write up a couple more posts. Then I made a start with something I’d been intending to do for a while now. It’s just a little out of my comfort zone.
I intend to start writing up my dream 100…
If you haven’t heard of Russel Brunson you may not have heard of this. He is the co-founder of Clickfunnels and one of the best online sales people I have seen. His books and courses are brilliant. I’ll for sure be giving you more information about Russel Brunson and Clickfunnels in future…
Anyway, when talking about getting more followers to your site, he speaks of the most important thing to do being your dream 100. This basically means to write down the 100 competitors in your industry who you’d best be suited to working with to grow each of your businesses. You’ll then contact these people in order to help and work with them in order to get exposure to their followers too. If those followers see what you do, they may be likely to check out your website too.
Now, I’m a massive introvert and this is well out of my comfort zone. But if Russel Brunson claims it is the most important thing to do, then it is an important thing for me to do to improve the site. So in my Money Your Concern fashion, I will start with the smallest step possible to get the ball rolling.
Today, I spent a couple of hours browsing the web, Youtube and Facebook to see which competitors would best work with my business. I’ve got to 27 so far. At the moment I’ll just keep track of what their businesses are doing to see what I can learn from them. Eventually I will need to step out of my comfort zone to get in touch with those people but I’m going at this one step at a time.
See how much this all scares me. I hope this inspires you, seeing that i’m not great at this yet and I have fears but i’m taking action. And you can too. This is my goal for this challenge at the end of the day. To help and inspire you.
Week 6 complete!!
So it has now been 6 weeks since I first had the idea of making a change in my financial life. So far not too much has changed financially but I have built something I’m proud of. I’m taking a step in the right direction. There is now a substantial amount of content and I hope to post more content every day for at least a year.
I hope more people will see this in future and it will help them to improve their financial lives.
I know this week must have been a little boring to read but it is me being honest. Sometimes business isn’t exciting. I pledged to write up my progress each day so I guess there will be some repetitive days in business. However, that being said, knowing that people hopefully will read this really pushes me to think for the next step. I want to make my journey as interesting as possible to read.
If you made it this far, thank you for reading. Keep posted with the blog section of the Money Your Concern website to track my £1 a day journey. I’d also love to hear if any of this is inspiring you to make a change yourself. Let me know in the comments section below. It’d be great to hear from you!!
