Week 7: I’m Having A Website Problem

Week 7: I’m Having A Website Problem

A recent website problem has arisen recently. I can’t seem to get the pages viewed online.

Day 43: Well that was s**t!!

So, the start of week 7 of my £1 a day challenge. I started off feeling good about this week. I made some great progress with content creation during week 6 and was starting to get an idea for my next steps; Now feeling ambitious. Although, I don’t think Swagbucks got the memo…

Would you believe, I got declined for 15 different surveys today. In the end I had to take what I could get. The end of my day consisted of frantically trying to complete terrible paying surveys for the sake of keeping the integrity of this challenge together. Maybe it sounds silly but it is this challenge that is keeping my hopes together for a better financial future.

So after about 2 hours of survey completing I finally passed my daily goal. So today I Learned 128 SB’s (£1.00). It wasn’t easy and it definitely wasn’t fun but the challenge is still alive. I just need to progress to my next steps (hopefully sooner rather than later).

Throughout the day though I managed to write up a few more post drafts. My motivation is still high to get this idea going with some momentum.

Day 44: “A recent website problem has arisen”

Swagbucks was a lot nicer to me today. I opened up my account early to find a short survey, paying 100 SB’s to complete. This took no longer than 10 minutes. After 2 more short surveys and a couple of search rewards from today, I passed my £1 a day challenge goal.

Today’s earnings were 131 SB’s (£1.01) for around 30 minutes of work.

A recent website problem has arisen recently. I can’t seem to get the pages viewed online. It seems to be something to do with what’s called indexing. This is where the search engine (google etc.) checks out your website to see if it is ready to be viewed on their searches. A week ago I found out about signing up to google search console. This is where you basically tell google about your site to make sure it goes live.

A week later…

My homepage now shows up on a web search which means more people will see it. Unfortunately, google still hasn’t recognised my posts. I put a lot of effort into each post so it would be a shame if nobody saw them.

So I researched this and found I needed to upload my sitemap to google search console also. You can find this with the YOAST SEO plug-in which already does this for you. It was a matter of copy and pasting the sitemap and uploading it to the search console. However, after a few days my posts still don’t show up on google.

For now I will research this to get it working as these posts are useful for increasing the outreach of this site to help as many people as possible. For now, I will keep creating posts but hold off on publishing them until google can index each one. I’ll keep you updated on this…

Day 45: A Different Kind of Website Problem…

I left Swagbucks a bit late today. I was busy working on my website and stock market analysis and I completely lost track of time. When I noticed the time I almost said to myself to have the day off. But then I remembered I’m not allowing myself any excuses. So I sucked it up and opened up my account late at night.

The problem was, there was a serious lack of surveys. I managed to complete 1 and got rejected for all the others. With less than an hour before the day is up, I needed to find something quick. So I browsed the discover section and found a website sign up trial. I had to type in my debit card details and the site looked a little sketchy, but I was desperate. So I plan to cancel my subscription before I have to pay. I hope its not a con site…

Although with Swagbucks, i’m pretty sure all of their sites would be checked beforehand. I think i’ll be OK… I hope.

Day 46: Sketchy Website Sign-up Warning!!

You know that sketchy site I told you about yesterday? Well, I was feeling a bit insecure about it, so I decided to do some research on it. It turns out the site I signed up to is dodgy. It is said to take peoples money even after cancellation. Silly Harry…

I have reported it and I’m sure by the time you read this, the page won’t be there anymore but just in case, DO NOT USE THE ‘fitVOD’ DISCOVER LINK.

I cancelled my subscription to it, ran a virus scan on my computer and notified the Swagbucks help centre. The scan came back all clear, so it’s just my debit card I need to worry about now. I plan to wait to hear back from Swagbucks for advice and will change my bank details before the 5-day trial period ends.

I hope this goes OK and I’ll keep you updated for more info.

So from experience, all of the discovery links from swagbucks have been fine but it obviously goes to show that you do need to do your own research before entering a site, regardless of who sent you.

So with that lesson learnt, I spent the rest of the day not doing too much to relieve my stress. In the evening, I opened up my Swagbucks account again, this time to complete the £1 a day challenge. Luckily there were a few surveys on offer and within 50 minutes I had passed my £1 goal. Today’s earnings were 130 SB’s (£1.01).

Day 47: Less Stress Today!!

Not as an exciting day today. I completed my challenge early, finishing 3 decent surveys in a row. Including two search rewards, today I earned 157 SB’s (£1.22) for around 1 hour and 15 minutes of work.

The rest of the day I spent researching different stock market investments. In case you are keen to try the stock market as an investment, now is the perfect time to start researching stocks yourselves and buy shares whilst they are cheap.

Day 48: My posts still aren’t being indexed…

Once again, I got up early to complete the £1 a day challenge. I went through all the surveys I could. Along with being declined three times, I completed 4 surveys to pass my goal. After 1 hour and 20 minutes of work on Swagbucks, I’d made 133 SB’s (£1.04).

The rest of today I spent creating more posts for the Money Your Concern website. Unfortunately, Google still isn’t indexing my site. This website problem means that Viewers won’t be able to see each post by typing it into the browser. This is a big problem for me as I want as many people to benefit from my content as possible. So the next steps in my business strategy is to halt posting my content and try to fix this issue. Hopefully then, once I can get more traffic to this site I will go forth with my strategy for increasing my income.

Day 49: Shutterstock

Today I completed my first Swago challenge. Swagbucks releases this challenge for you to complete certain tasks within a certain time frame for a SB reward. Today the challenges were very straight forward such as simply checking out online shops via their link. I didn’t need to buy anything there. Within 20 minutes, I had achieved the 50 SB reward.

Afterwards I completed 2 surveys to complete my daily £1 challenge. Today’s earnings were 177 SB’s (£1.38) for around 45 minutes of work.

The rest of the day I played around on google search console. I wanted to see why Google wasn’t indexing my posts. I’m still not sure but I sent them to be re-indexed by google so hopefully with that and a little patience, my posts will be viewable on google. Then I can start posting every day again.

In search of adding another stream of income, I also signed up to Shutterstock. Shutterstock is a stock photo site where you can post your photos online that people can purchase. I’ve written about this in a post I intend to release soon. It wont pay a lot but if they deem my photos good enough, it’ll give me a nice extra income stream nonetheless. I only have a smartphone though so hopefully the quality will be good enough to be accepted. I’ve uploaded a few photos and they are pending review, I’ll let you know how that goes…

Week 7 Complete…

So this marks the completion of week 7 of the £1 a day challenge. I’m still yet to progress another income stream but I now have a solid platform. All I now need is to sort my website problem and get it indexed by google, so people can see my content and my brand can grow.

I hope you enjoy following my challenge. More importantly, I hope you are more inspired to take action in your own financial life.
