WEEK 8: I suppose it is important to acknowledge that business is a marathon, rather than a sprint. I’m starting to realise this…
Day 50: Disappointing Start to Week 8
To Begin week 8, an update on my Shutterstock application. Well, it didn’t work. All of my photos got rejected due to lack of photo quality. So just a heads up, if you attempt to make money through this route, you’ll need a better camera than my 13MP phone camera at least. I have heard that some smartphone users are successful but for best results I assume you’ll have to use a decent camera.
So after that disappointing email this morning, I decided to shrug off the bad news by doing some surveys. Hooray!! Not really, i’m getting pretty sick of surveys too… But I need to do it, so here we are.
I completed 1 survey on Swagbucks this morning, then waited till evening to hopefully find better paying ones. Later on, I found 2 more well paying surveys to get me past the daily £1 a day challenge goal. So today’s earnings were 132 SB’s (£1.03) for around 1 hour worth of surveys.
Day 51: 100 Minutes!!
It took a while to complete today’s challenge. I was declined by all the larger surveys leaving me with only the poor paying ones to complete. This took me 5 surveys and the best part of 100 minutes to complete but I got the challenge done. I can’t wait until I can build more streams of income and I can leave Swagbucks behind.
Today I earned 129 SB’s (£1.01) for about 100 minutes of work.
Day 52: “A Lot More Smoothly Today”
My £1 a day challenge went a lot more smoothly today. I kept flicking back to Swagbucks throughout the day to find the best surveys. By 4 PM I had completed 3 decent paying surveys to pass my daily goal. Along with 2 search rewards, today’s earnings were 162 SB’s (£1.26) for around 60 minutes of surveys.
The rest of the day I spent researching stocks. They are still cheap and there is a good possibility that stocks will become cheaper over the coming months so i’m getting in as much research as i can now to prepare for the best opportunities to buy.
If you’d like to learn more about how I invest in the stock market, you can check out the investing section of the Money Your Concern website here. Over the coming months I intend to share my investment philosophy and many investment tips I’ve learnt on my journey.
Day 53: Nice!!
When I logged onto Swagbucks today, I found a nice paying survey. For 25 minutes of work It payed me 125 SB’s. With this and 2 search rewards throughout the day I had made 148 SB’s (£1.15) for 30 minutes of time spent.
The rest of Today I spent analysing more stocks. I also wrote another post for the Money Your Concern website which I plan to post once I can see my website is being indexed by google. I’m still waiting for google search console to index my sitemap.
Day 54: Stock Market Analysis
Not much extra to report today. At the moment I’m spending most of my time analysing new companies to invest in the stock market. With the economic situation as it is, I believe it is likely that the price of stocks are possible to drop again and they will become cheaper. Making this moment a prime opportunity to do as much research as I can to be prepared to take full advantage.
In between my analysis, I would flick back and forth to Swagbucks to look for well paying surveys. Unfortunately, there were none in the morning. In the afternoon I found one paying 100 SB’s which took around 25 minutes to complete. Thanks to a few well paying search rewards throughout the day, this was sufficient to pass my daily goal.
Today’s earnings were 128 SB’s (£1.00) for around 30 minutes of work.
Day 55: Analysing Stocks
I found another well paying survey early on today. It paid me 125 SB’s for around 30 minutes of work. Again throughout the day I received a couple of search rewards to pass my daily goal. Today’s earnings were 139 SB’s (£1.08).
The rest of today I once again spent focusing on analysing different stock market investments. It’s a pretty tall order but i’m trying to do a quick analysis of every stock in the FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 index. It’s taking a while but I’ve analysed around 230 stocks so far and I’ve found a few good looking companies to potentially invest in. I feel it is the extra work that I put in now that will set me apart from other investors to best improve my chances for future investment profits.
Day 56: Back To Work
So the Coronavirus lock down restrictions have been relaxed here in the UK. As a builder, the government allowed us to go back to work. This leaves me with less time to work on my business. However, to me this means I just need to be more efficient. I will have to make sure I get up early every day and spend longer hours in the evening to keep the momentum going with my challenge. I am more determined than ever to pursue my goal of financial freedom. Therefore, I plan to use my frustrated energy of a boring day at work to drive me to work harder to get out of this.
So after my day at work, I loaded up my Swagbucks account. Luckily there were a couple of well paying surveys waiting for me. After around 45 minutes, I had completed 2 surveys to pass my daily goal. Today I earned 130 SB’s (£1.01).
So that concludes week 8 of my £1 a day challenge…
Sorry, I know the past couple of weeks may have been boring to read but at the moment I think spending more time on my investing strategies is going to make me more money in the long run now, rather than working on my business. Once I have a set strategy or when I have Google index my website properly I can at least start posting again and hopefully my business updates will become a little more eventful.
However I suppose it is important to acknowledge that business is a marathon, rather than a sprint. I’m starting to realise this. The boring progress of week 8 is just a stepping stone to improving my skills to being a better businessman and investor. I need to work hard and promote my businesses aggressively but building trust and a following takes time.
