Week 27: Finding My Focus In Business

Week 27: Finding My Focus In Business

Week 27: Nobody but you will know yourself better, it is your responsibility to decide when you need to give yourself a rest.

Day 183: Welcome to week 27

Thanks for checking out week 27 of the £1 a day challenge. This is the challenge where I try to escape my comfort zone by building income streams online. All from the simplest step of making £1 a day online.

So week 27 now marks that I am almost a whole 6 months since I began this challenge. And what have I learned?

Well… I’ve learned that building a business online is hard. I’ve put in a lot of effort trying to create content to grow the Money Your Concern brand on YouTube and on the Website. However, this is yet to get any real traction. This means that all my affiliate and referral link efforts are yet to take off too.

So this is the week I’ve decided to put content creation off the back burner and look for more direct ways of making money online. So stay tuned with the challenge to see which strategies I try next. As always I will report back to you what I learn, both on here and on the YouTube channel.

However, in the meantime, I must still keep this challenge up. So to do this, I have been using Swagbucks to complete surveys for money.

Today’s efforts took me 45 minutes to make 130 SB’s (£1.01).

Day 184: “Pheew”

Today’s main focus was getting the week 26 update of the £1 a day challenge out on the YouTube channel. Each video takes me 6-8 hours to make so along with my 9-5 job, obviously I didn’t have much time for growth today.

However, I made sure to use Swagbucks again to pass today’s goal. Reaching past the £1 goal today took about an hour.

Pheew. That was a long day.

P.S. You can check out the Week 26 update here. It’s a recap of my progress so far in this challenge. I hope this gives you a useful insight into what building a business online is actually like.

Day 185: I failed… Again!!

So I’m going to be honest. Time got ahead of me today. I’ve gotten behind on recording last week’s  idea update again this week. Each video takes 6-8 hours to make and some weeks I simply struggle to find the time to upload it with my job going on too.

So today I was frantically trying to catch up with this and I completely forgot to do the £1 a day challenge. So all I earned today was a 6 SB search reward.

I know I failed today but I won’t let this get on top of me. I just need to keep the momentum going.

Day 186: My 6 months recap video

So I finally got last week’s video uploaded. I go into a recap of the past 6 months and what I plan to do next to improve this online business journey. I’d appreciate it if you checked it out below…

I also used Swagbucks again to get the challenge done. Once again, I spent around 45 minutes completing surveys to earn 135 SB’s (£1.05).

Day 187: My new, main focus

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking this weekend. I know progress is slow with what I am currently doing so I really need to look for new opportunities of making money online.

To be honest with you, I’m still not sure what I need to do next.

I know that doing some physical selling will be a more immediate way to make money online. This could be reselling under-priced stuff on eBay or perhaps creating a product and selling it on amazon.

However, I need to learn more about these strategies and work around the difficulties due to COVID restrictions. So as I spend time learning about this before I jump in, I plan to ramp up my affiliate links on the website. Also, I think I’ll add some review and comparison videos on YouTube.

I have 2 months or so to make 3 affiliate commissions or my amazon associates account will be cancelled. So I think now is the time to really push this for me.

Affiliate marketing will be my main focus in terms of growing an income for the near future. So stay tuned to see what I learn here. I will share any useful tips I come across.

So that’s the plan. And I hope some passive income will finally come out of this. I have a few ideas…

But obviously in the meantime, I must keep up this challenge. So once again, today, I loaded up Swagbucks and completed 2 decent surveys to earn 141 SB’s (£1.10).

Day 188: “I need a bit of a break”.

Just an hour or so spent on Swagbucks today after work. I completed 3 surveys to earn 150 SB’s (£1.17). I need a bit of a break…

Day 189:  Listen To Your Body

So I’m going to be honest, I’ve been struggling these past couple of days with motivation. I’ve been getting up between 4-5 AM most mornings to edit videos and put ideas together to grow this brand.

I think this has taken its toll a little. Along with my 9-5 job all this work has been making me feel a bit drained.

So I decided to listen to my body and chill out for another day. I’m in this for the long game. I can’t burn myself out if I really want to help people with this challenge in the long run.

Anyway, I did make sure I passed the challenge. I used Swagbucks again to make 132 SB’s (£1.03) using surveys.

So that’s week 27:

Sorry, I know not a lot happened this week but I don’t want to hold the boring details from you. I want you to see an honest depiction of my online business journey. So if you ever find yourself struggling in business or in a rut, you can remember that I’ve gone through slow stages too.

At least I’ve decided on a short-term focus for this challenge. To improve in the area of affiliate marketing. Stay tuned to see where I go with that…

I think the main take away I want to leave you with from this week is to always listen to your body. It is great to be passionate about something and put everything you have into becoming better at it. However, no matter how much you care, there will be days when things feel difficult and you lack the motivation to do what needs to be done.

As nobody but you will know yourself better, it is your responsibility to decide when you need to give yourself a rest. Always be honest with yourself. Remember, this online business game is more of a marathon rather than a sprint.

So thanks for checking out week 27 of the £1 a day challenge…
