Week 15: Swagbucks and Focusing On YouTube

Week 15: Swagbucks and Focusing On YouTube

Week 15: I have thought about trying many other ideas out from this week. However, there’s various reasons as to why building a strong base on YouTube is much more beneficial right now…

Day 99: Making the most of a free day…

After such a busy week last week, it felt so good to have a day to myself. I had the day off work and could spend the whole day catching up on all of the areas I intended to improve with Money Your concern and the £1 a day challenge

Firstly I edited and posted the week 14 update in the Blog section of this website. I then wrote up a script for this, so that I can record the audio for the YouTube version tomorrow morning. I will then aim to edit and post this tomorrow evening. Then, I can post weekly video updates every Thursday as mentioned previously.

If you’d like you can check out the Money Your Concern YouTube channel.

The video updates are slightly different to the written format on here, in which I go into more detail in certain aspects I feel are the more significant areas I worked on during the week.

I later edited and put out the week 13 video update today as well. Then, in the evening, to top things off, I wrote a couple more posts for the website. You can expect to see these out shortly. The posts I am focusing on lately are ones in which I can add affiliate links. This is so I can test out this strategy of making passive income online. So I can really discover how it works and the best strategy to use.

Within all of this, I went in and out of using Swagbucks throughout the day. This is so I could pick out the best paying surveys each time to most efficiently use the time I spend there. By late afternoon, I had completed 3 surveys to reach my daily £1 goal. Today’s earnings were 141 SB’s (£1.10) for around 50 minutes worth of efforts.

So that was a busy day and I feel a great way to kick off week 15 of the £1 a day challenge.

Day 100: A (not so) Special Day!!

So today marks 100 days since I had the idea to begin this challenge!!

Unfortunately some magic genie didn’t pop up or anything today though. I had hoped this day would have felt a bit more special. Nothing magic happened, but I did get my YouTube updates on track today. The week 14 post was right on cue for today being a Thursday. Now, I can aim to update on video format every Thursday from now on.

After work I then loaded up Swagbucks to get today’s challenge out of the way. It took a few tries of going on and off Swagbucks his evening, to find the best paying surveys. However, with around 45 minutes of accumulated effort, I managed to clock up enough SB points to pass the £1 mark.

Today’s earnings were 131 SB’s (£1.01).

So although a magic occurrence didn’t suddenly make me rich today, I was hoping it would. I thought I’d add some useful information as to how my first passive income source is going. Well… In truth, it’s not really going because I’m yet to get a single commission from my affiliate links yet. Although I know that this is to be expected. As I gain more viewers and trust with those viewers, this will be when I will begin to see and income from affiliate marketing.

So my strategy with affiliate marketing is…

To simply create as much useful content as possible. Then, where relevant, I will link you to products and books I have found useful to help me in a certain financial area. The more I post out useful content, the more trust I will build and the more organically this brand will grow.

So this is my plan to develop an affiliate strategy on my website until I learn more. However, this is a gradual process. And I’m really keen to push this £1 goal on. So I need to look for my next strategy to test out, on the side…

I was on a walk along the beach this morning to clear my mind before I edited the week 14 video. Thinking about my next step to progress my finances. I thought about many different options, including: Selling on Ebay, Amazon FBA, writing an eBook and I even thought about creating an external website focusing solely on affiliate marketing.

However, I’m yet to decide on this. Right now, I’ll work as hard as I can, trying to grow the Money Your Concern brand on YouTube and on this website. Soon I’ll update you on my next steps.

Day 101: Another Day Of Progress

As well as uploading another YouTube video and writing up a few more posts for the website, I once again used Swagbucks to complete today’s challenge. I was fortunate with the survey offers today. I managed to complete 3 surveys and a couple of search rewards, to earn 163 SB’s (£1.27) for around 45 minutes of effort.

Day 102: A Nice Discover Offer

I found a nice deal in the discovery section on Swagbucks today. The offer was to 2000 SB’s (£15.60) to deposit and wager £10 on a lotto site.

So I deposited the £10 and put it into the scratchcards on there. Unfortunately these things don’t often have a good return compared to the roulette table etc. So I ended up with £3.50 left over (a loss of £6.50). SO in total, today I earned £9.25 including a couple of search rewards. This was for no more than 30 minutes of effort.

Day 103: Nothing Special…

Nothing special today. I went back and forth onto Swagbucks throughout the day, to eventually complete 3 surveys to pass today’s goal. Today I earned 132 SB’s (£1.03) for around 1 hour’s worth of work.

Day 104: Editing My YouTube Audio Recordings

Straight after work today I loaded up Swagbucks to pass the £1 goal. After a few failed attempts, I luckily found one survey paying 150 SB’s. This took around 25 minutes. However, once this was complete, I had passed my day’s goal. Along with some search rewards, today I earned 165 SB’s (£1.29) for no more than 35 minutes of work.

The rest of the evening, I spent tirelessly editing some of the YouTube videos I had recorded the audio for. If you’d like, you can check out the Money Your Concern YouTube channel, to see what I’ve been working on. I think there is beginning to be some useful content on there.

Day 105: Focusing On Building My Brand With YouTube

Another day of using Swagbucks again after work. I worked my way through 3 or 4 surveys to complete my daily goal. Today’s earnings were 145 SB’s (£1.13) for about an hour of effort.

As I’ve been using Swagbucks for 15 weeks now as my means of making £1 a day online, it’s beginning to drag. I really want to move off of this, to start building passive income.

My first leap into this was with affiliate marketing. A few weeks ago, I started adding amazon affiliate links to all the reviews of all the books I found useful to progress my financial knowledge. However, so far, I have received no income from this.

Alongside this…

I have also been branching out to build the Money Your Concern YouTube channel. I’ve put a lot of effort into building this too. At the moment it takes around 4 hours to make each of the 10 videos I currently have posted. So far, this is also yet to get much traction.

With these two slow moving opportunities, it sure is frustrating. But from what I’ve heard, businesses take time to progress. I must be patient and continue to work hard regardless of my current results.

This is why I’m making the pledge here, that I will post at least 100 videos on the YouTube channel before I give up on it. YouTube could bring great opportunities for my business. It can bring attention to my brand from which I will then gain traction with the affiliate links and any products or services I might put out in future. Also, if i can reach 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 watch hours on the channel, it will then be valid for monetisation. This would bring me even more passive income.

So for the next few weeks at least, I plan to continue to develop a firm platform on YouTube as my main business focus. I will post a spread of financial information and see which posts are the most valuable to the viewers. Then I will look to double down on this to help as many people as possible.

I have thought about trying many other ideas out from this week. However, there’s various reasons as to why building a strong base on YouTube is much more beneficial right now.

As always, I’ll update you about everything I learn about building a business with YouTube. Also, ways you can make money with this strategy.

Thanks for your attention…

So that’s the end of week 15, and I’ve now passed the 100 day mark of this £1 a day challenge. Throughout week 15 I have spent a lot of time assessing which strategy I will try next to build passive income online.

For now, I’ve decided to focus on using YouTube to gain attention to the brand. This is so I can reach out to as many people as possible, as early as possible, to help them make money, their concern.

If you’d like to keep track of the £1 a day challenge, you can do so via the Blog section of this website. Or, if you prefer, you can follow my video updates every Thursday on the Money Your Concern YouTube channel.

If you plan on starting the £1 a day challenge yourself. Let us know in the comments and let’s help each other out.

Cheers, talk soon…
